I decided to make a list of the things I would like, and to buy myself one of those things each month. The laptop is one of those “things” I would like. Another I have been eyeing is Roomba/robot vacuum cleaner. We adopted a dog from another military family some time ago. She’s a Siberian Husky, and since we came here, she has been “blowing” her coat perpetually. I vacuum nearly every single day, and sometimes two to three times a day. I would sure love to have something to vacuum up the fur, so I don’t have to waste my time continually vacuuming. A Roomba would be very nice. The laptop is “June’s” item. The Roomba is July’s item. I’m trying to find something for August, September and October.
Another little gadget I would absolutely love to get is a “Soda Stream”. It’s a bottle thing that makes carbonated drinks. For some reason this is really something that sounds kind of nice to have. Another thing I was kind of thinking of getting is Keurig Coffee Maker. I like iced coffees, and Shane likes regular coffee, that way we could make coffee by the cup, instead of a whole pot of coffee for one person. I’m leaning more towards the Soda Stream than anything else though for August.
I’ll be almost done with this deployment in September, and was trying to think of something to cap off the last month of the deployment. I am thinking about getting myself another Vera Bradley. I want something fun, for myself, to reward myself for getting through this more, or less, in tact. I don’t want to go broke getting these things, and I want to start rebuilding the savings account I have drained. I don’t want to continuously spend money, so I thought if I narrowed it down to two or three items, I could splurge on things, yet keep it in control.
