I did not get into New York Marathon, so it means I will be running the race in 2014. I was going to run a different marathon in November, but after reading some reviews and thinking long and hard about it, I decided to run a marathon in February. This allows me a few months to get into marathon training shape, and be ready to go. I selected a relatively small race, with a very flat and fast course close to home. I hope that I will be in Boston Qualifying shape by February. I’m about 10 pounds lighter than my last race, I have been doing a lot of weight training with cross fit, and I’m doing a lot better on my diet than I had originally anticipated. The last several races, I have improved by 15-20 minutes per race, so I’m really hoping to continue that trend and dropping to a Boston Qualifying time. If I able to do it, I will run New York in November and Boston the following April.
Besides researching new marathons, I cleaned up our yard. I managed to mow the lawn. Our front lawn is dying; I don’t know what to do. My husband hired a chemical yard company to keep it green. The backyard is green, the front yard, isn’t. I don’t know what they sprayed, but I think I’m going to buy some grass seed, and try planting grass seed. There are only a few green patches, and they are on the sides and in the back yard. I also went through a few closets, and got rid of all the ripped towels and sheets. I’m now vacuuming and doing the dishes. It seems mundane, but I’m getting excited for a houseguest.
